What is the psychology behind the mood moderator and fashion?
Our love or florals has more to do with the heavenly scents they provide us. There is a psychology behind why we love to give and receive flowers, to walk in the garden and to adorn our bodies in in florals patterned garments. Few of us realize it has to do with our primal instincts.
Whether we are aware of it or not, when we wear florals or give them to another we are releasing hormones associated with primal instincts.
“Common sense tells us that flowers make us happy. Now, science shows that not only do flowers make us happier than we know, they have strong positive effects on our emotional well being”. – Dr. Haviland-Jones
As humans evolved, flowers were the first sign of the coming of abundance after a hungry winter. Floral’s bright colors triggered the dopamine of our hunter-gather predecessors and consequently were a source of valuable nutrition and medicines. In modern times we have plenty to eat year round but, however, the sight or smell of a flower triggers the senses associated with dopamine. Furthermore, there are also links between flowers and the feel good hormone Oxytocin that is associated with bonding as well as the antidepressant hormone Serotonin.Wearing floral perfumes, patterned clothing or makeup derived from floral colors will not only help you look fabulous and on trend, they can also be triggering healthy hormones in yourself and others.
