The Paris Photographer’s iconic imagery stands the test of time.

BAHM: Fran, you have created beautiful iconic images of diverse personalities. BAMH Magazine and our readers want to find out more about the man behind the imagery.

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: Thanks for giving me the opportunity to talk about my career in your prestigious magazine.

BAHM: Where are you from?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: I was born in Transylvania, Romania in one of the most beautiful medieval towns Europe can have.

BAHM: How did your career as a photographer begin?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER:  After I finished a PhD in science, I moved to Paris to work as a consultant. It was Paris, the city with an incredible architecture, history and art, that created the desire in me to take photos. So I bought a camera and learned everything that I could about how to take beautiful photos.

BAHM: What motivates you and keeps you awake at night?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER:  The type of photos that my team and I take, romantic couples photos, tell the stories of the people we photograph. By doing this, we create little moments of happiness for couples and they get souvenirs of their trip or their celebration, that they’ll remember forever. What keeps me up at night is how to create these moments of happiness and touch people’s lives everywhere in the world, not only in Paris.

BAHM: Where do you get your inspiration to create your beautiful images?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: Inspiration comes from every moment of life, but also from movies. I like to watch every movie from a photographers point of view. I focus on the light, the colors, the composition. It’s fascinating to me.

BAHM: Tell us a little about your photography style. Do you plan out your photo shoot details meticulously or do you take a more spontaneous approach?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: In the beginning of my career, and let me mention that I’ve photographed over 1000 happy couples in Paris, I used to prepare every little detail. In time, with experience, my confidence grew and now I prepare 50% of the shoot. I make sure that we have all the important details settles, such as locations, outfits, the overall feel that the couple desires. Then, while taking the photos, I try to learn as much as possible about the couple and incorporate anything important to them in the images. Plus, if we encounter something interesting on our path, I’ll make sure to capitalize on that opportunity.

BAHM: Your stunning location images make a strong statement, whether wedding, portrait beauty or fashion. Which is your favorite?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: The Tuileries Gardens in Paris is my favorite location for beautiful photos in Paris. It has a blend of nature and architecture that only a Parisian location can offer.

BAHM: How would you describe your life?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: Exciting. I spend my time between taking photos, training photographers and traveling with my family. Living in Paris is also a dream came true. I am a bit of a workaholic, but what ambitious person isn’t?

BAHM: What advice would you give to others who want to become photographers?

PARIS PHOTOGRAPHER: To dream, to visualize! If you want to succeed at something, spend a little bit of time on visualizing how you’re creating beautiful photos. Then, spend time on learning and practicing. Learn one concept at a time and practice that concept until it becomes second nature.
