Darren’s expertise is also utilized in his role as Director of Hair and Makeup at Splat London, an innovative advertising agency providing leading solutions within the fashion industry. His extensive experience and creative insights help shape the agency’s approach, ensuring that every campaign is visually striking and on-brand.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Darren’s journey to the pinnacle of his profession has been marked by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering passion for his craft. His ability to work efficiently under pressure is exemplified by a memorable experience with Katy Perry. “I was supposed to have an hour and a half to work on Katy Perry’s hair and makeup, but she ended up having only 30 minutes before the show. I did her makeup in 25 minutes and only had 5 minutes to do her hair. She said she loved what I did,” Darren recalls. Two years later, Katy asked him to join her on tour, a testament to his exceptional talent and professionalism.
Working with other celebrities such as Lil’ Kim, Faith Evans, SWV, and Total has been a dream come true for Darren. His passion for his work is evident in his own words: “If I won the lottery tomorrow, I would be doing exactly what I am doing right now.” This love for his craft drives him to continually push the boundaries of hair and makeup artistry, inspiring others in the industry and setting new standards of excellence.
